The original manufacturer of the Comet radial arm saw, beginning about 1945. The company was bought by Essick Corp., which sold the radial arm saw line to Boice Crane, a.k.a. M.I.T. International. We have a report of a radial arm saw labeled, "Comet Mfg. Co., a Div. of Siegler Corp., Los Angeles". It is uncertain how Siegler Corp. fits into the chain of ownership. An ad in a 1957 issue of "Canadian Woodworker" claims "a quarter-century of Comet quality..." which puts their origin about 1932. This ad indicates that the company was also a distributor for Davis & Wells. Address (1950 Popular Mechanics): 2029 Santa Fe Ave, Los Angeles 21, California
