This name was used by American Saw Mill Machinery Co. in marketing their products; see that company's entry. Don't confuse this name with American Wood Working Machine Co. of Rochester. The former name was used from the mid-1950s to the late '50s or early '60s; the latter name was used from 1897 to 1925.
